In May, Our Hearings, Our Voice (OHOV) launched the Articulate Animation, co-written, designed and voiced by some of their Board Members.
The short film – made by Braw Talent – brings to life the importance of language in the Children’s Hearings System.
A joint initiative with Children’s Hearings Scotland (CHS) and the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration (SCRA), the animation stems from the work of the Language Leaders.
OHOV are delighted by the response to the animation, which has been shared at large conferences in Scotland run by CYCJ, Children in Scotland, Each and Every Child and the National Leadership Network. They have now been asked to include Articulate in online training delivered to education staff by Education Scotland and to multi-agency staff by NHS Education for Scotland. CHS and SCRA have already embedded the principles from the animation in their guides, training and practice change around the language children experience.
If you would like to learn more about this journey, please read the most recent update on the CHIP website or this blog on the OHOV website which incorporates the voices of the young people involved, on how changing language will change both practice and organisational culture.
