CHIP members may be interested in taking part in a workshop or giving their views via an online survey about advocacy in the Children’s Hearings System. The Scottish Government has commissioned The Lines Between, working with Who Cares? Scotland, to develop a National Practice Model and service specification in order to meet the requirement of the Children’s Hearings (Scotland) Act, 2011 to deliver ‘services of support and representation provided for the purposes of assisting a child in relation to the child’s involvement in a Children’s Hearing’. As part of this work, they are holding workshop events around Scotland to give as many stakeholders as possible an opportunity to influence the development of a National Practice Model and service specification for advocacy for children and young people involved in Hearings. The workshops will be held in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Dumfries and Inverness in January. To sign up for a workshop, please click here. If you would like to have your say, but are unable to attend one of the workshops, you can give your views via an online survey which you can access here. Who Cares? Scotland are leading a separate consultation exercise for children, young people and families.
